DJ Chuckie (a.k.a. Clyde Sergio Narain) is a Dutch DJ and producer known for being a major touchstone of the Dutch house sound. The best way to contextualize Dutch house's distinct rhythm is to imagine reggaeton's lurching half-step beat sped up to something resembling house. Chuckie's own sound is characterized by a thin, high-pitched synth line that oscillates between a central melody and that melody's different octaves. Not unlike a lot of electro-house Chuckie designs his tracks to have memorable "drops," where the track will have multiple interludes with out any percussion or melody before building them back in to create heightened audience expectation. A significant component of Chuckie's music also revolves around sampling hip-hop lyrics, a clear influence of Chicago's ghetto house tradition.
