With the overwhelming majority of young bands trying to sound like they're comprised of a few weathered ruffians who've seen their fare share of hard days, its refreshing to come across an act - like the Australian electropop group Operator Please - that isn't afraid to sound like a clear reflection of its members ages. With simple instrumentation and lead singer Amandah Wilkinson chirpy vocals, the group sounds like its steered by adolescents who are in the process of learning how to properly arrange songs. This isn't to say Operator Please makes indignant music that's easily forgettable; quite the contrary, the quintet is able to get across a sense of urgency with its tracks and stress the importance of never giving up on the idea that anyone is too old to change their ways. Formed in 2005, Operator Please has managed to resonate well with a staggering amount of Australian youths, who find special significance in the band's characteristic style of electronic-influenced pop music.
