If an individual with a disregard for sonic construction and an imprudent personal sense of music was to listen to a few tracks by the Australian duo Pnau, he would probably write off the group's music as electropop drivel. While this assumption might hold true for folks who are unfamiliar with the modern music scene, it ignores the fact that the two members that comprise Pnau are extremely talented musicians, capable of producing well polished tracks that are catchy and deserving of repeated listens. Formed in 1999, by Nick Littlemore (one half of the successful electropop outfit Empire of the Sun) and Peter Mayes, after they met at secondary school and bonded over a mutual love of trance, Pnau didn't managed to get noticed by record companies or potential fans until a few years into its existence; now, after some time spent polishing its musical approach, the duo is playing shows on a semi-regular basis and releasing new material to the admiration of throngs of hungry listeners.
