Pulling seemingly equally from the worlds of noise, kraut and psych rock, Brooklyn's Oneida prides itself on its everything plus the kitchen sink approach. Improvisation and inflated song lengths factor prominently into the group's live performances, which allegedly showcase its taste for driving rhythms, experimentation and proggy tendencies. Album to album - and even song to song - Oneida is a tough band to pin down; but for adventurous listeners who are up for the group's allegiance to eclecticism, this is an awesomely noisy racket you'll wanna check out.
