Bing & Ruth

Formed in 2006 by pianist and composer David Moore, Bing & Ruth layers multiple acoustic instruments, including clarinets, cellos, haunting choral voices and hand claps, but keeps the piano at the forefront. The results are surprisingly minimalist soundscapes that meld neo-classical instrumentals with ambient compositions. Moore and his rotating cast of performers have played with many prominent contemporary classical composers, such as Max Richter and Múm, and are most noted for their unique choices of performance spaces, which include abandoned meat lockers, warehouses and chicken coops.
