Franz Nicolay

Before launching a solo career as a singer/songwriter, New York City-based Franz Nicolay served as a keyboardist and accordionist for a number of bands including The Hold Steady, Against Me! and Bouncing Souls. Releasing his debut LP, Black Rose Paladins, in 2007, Nicolay defined himself as a musician who isn't afraid to indulge in his creative sensibilities in order to achieve his artistic endgame. Straddling the musical gamutwith his solo material, Nicolay can switch between gypsy-jazz, alternative country and modern blues with reckless abandon.
