Wladimir Anselme is a French singer/songwriter with a penchant for crafting songs that take the listener to a vintage Parisian world--or at least a Parisian world he'd like to exist in. Anselme utilizes bizarre acoustic instrumentation, such as the bouncy sounding jaw-harp on "Les Grandes Eaux" and shovel banjo on "Le Cuiellette." Similar to his unusual instrumentation choices, Anselme's lyrical content is full of eclectic characters, such as anthropomorphic figures and space-traveling gangsters. The combination of these musical decisions lands Anselme at the forefront of the French freak folk scene.
