Written by American playwright Julia Cho, The Language Archive explores the themes of language and love through examining the faltering relationship between an overly-academic linguist named George and his wife, with whom, ironically, he is unable to effectively communicate. Their relationship eventually deteriorates and George decides to focus his energy on saving a dying language from oblivion. The Language Archive is a sweet-tempered, award-winning drama with many twists, and leads audiences to explore the importance of language in a world where people find it harder and harder to communicate.
