Chevelle is an rock band from Chicago that was founded by brothers Pete and Sam Loeffler in 1995. After recording a demo and spending its first three years of existence playing small gigs around the Chicago area, the band signed a record deal and recorded its debut album, Point #1. Released in 1999, the album earned Chevelle favorable reviews and allowed the band to play for wider audiences outside of its home state. Primarily considered to be hard rock outfit, the band has mastered employing dark undertones in its music without sacrificing its popular appeal. Chevelle released its sixth studio album Hats Off to the Bull, in 2011.
