French drummer Christian Vander cites the late and great John Coltrane as one of his primary influences, even playing strictly Coltrane's catalog in his Christian Vander Trio. Other Vander projects include the band Magma, Alien and the Christian Vander Quartet. The majority of Vander's releases can be found under his Magma and Alien projects, though his Trio and Quartet have continued to perform live.
