Launched in part by a popular YouTube video in which Atomic Tom plays its single "Take Me Out" on iPhones while riding a New York City subway, the band went on to release its debut album The Moment in 2010. Squarely pop in sound, Atomic Tom utilize a familiar, hook-driven song formula that positions choruses as the most memorable (catchy) aspect of the group's music. The band signed to Universal Republic Records in January of 2010 for a multiple-album recording contract.
