Tangerine Dream

Perhaps the most prolific, if not the most revered bands of the German Krautrock, Tangerine Dream has lead a successful career that has spanned for nearly half a century, with over 70 albums released and counting. Fans and historians of the band alike tend to separate the Tangerine Dream's career into stylistic periods. The band's earlier years made considerable headway in the development of electronic music and helped to promote, perhaps more than any other, the artistic merits of Krautrock. Tangerine Dream's later period would shift into a style of music that would contribute to the creation of the New Age genre - despite the fact that the band never really liked the term "New Age."
