The side project of neo-classical composer Evan Abeele and his photographer girlfriend Denise Nouvion (who provides vocals on tracks), Memoryhouse was formed in Ontario, Canada's winter of 2009 as a means to occupy the band members during the cold months. The band name is a reference to German minimalist composer Max Richter's album of the same title, and while the duo's music is evidently rooted in classical composition, it falls more into the chillwave/hazy pop category than anything near what Richter would create. Still, the music of Memoryhouse is lovely and ethereal and the band's live show includes interesting visuals coordinated with the music by Nouvion.
