The Divine Comedy

Though Northern Ireland's The Divine Comedy is technically referred to as a group, those familiar with the band's lineage will know that singer/songwriter Neil Hannon is the one common thread that has unified the group's 20 year history. With his carefully arranged compositions, Hannon pulls from classical, folk and alternative-rock to create chamber-pop tunes full of rich melodies, pianos and guitars. And even though he claims to have never read the book his band's name comes from, Hannon still manages to write literate and thought-provoking lyrics, all sung in his distinctive low baritone voice.
