Highly influential on multiple genres including hardcore punk, art rock, indie rock and shoegaze, Wire remains a band cemented in the annals of rock n' roll. Formed in 1976 in London, the trio (originally a four piece) released its first album Pink Flag in 1977, marking its raucous punk rock roots and garnering the band a devoted underground fan base. The following two albums denoted the band as one unafraid to experiment with complex song structures and grew its fan base overseas. Though Wire subsequently took multiple hiatuses, with band members often focusing on solo efforts and side projects, Wire has always reunited to the delight of an ever growing crowd of fans, one that seems to multiply with each new generation.
