French four-piece Deaf Preachers likely earned its name because it plays loud music - music that promises to make an audience temporarily deaf after a show, or perhaps music that, after being played for four years, has made the band members deaf. While English is evidently not the band members' first language, but they choose to sing in this non-native tongue and thus have a tendency to repeat fairly shallow choruses over and over. The band relies instead upon layering rocking guitar riffs and drum beats to make up for these lackluster lyrics, producing a a loud display or rock n' roll tinged with psych.
