Candlemass

Formed in 1984 in Stockholm, Candlemass is a doom metal band that's considered a pivotal innovator on the Swedish metal scene. Though the group has had a fairly chaotic career, going through a multitude of lineup changes, taking a few hiatuses and most recently dealing with its lead singer being in jail for grand theft (of over 35,000 CDs), the group has still managed to endure these hardships and continue with its music creating endeavors. When its lead singer is released from prison in late 2010, the band plans on recording a new album and embarking on a supporting tour.
