Based upon the 20th century Russian novel by Boris Pasternak, this musical breathes new life into the story of a Russian doctor/poet's struggles during the Russian Revolution of 1912 and the Russian Civil War which occurred shortly thereafter. Pasternak's masterpiece has been adapted several times since the novel was published in 1957, including into an award winning film, stage plays and multiple television versions.
