Loscil

Considering the extremely ethereal and sonically textured music that Vancouver-based downtempo/chill out outfit Loscil creates, it's not hard to imagine that when the project was first conceived as a multimedia endeavor, that it would focus as much on visuals as it would on music. Formed in 1998 by Scott Morgan, Loscil makes electronic music that is a strong reaction to the rave-friendly dance music that was created during the better part of the 1990s. The type of music Loscil creates is ideal for solitary listening--when someone can relax, be unfettered by others and truly sink into the music.
