Fred Frith is a highly respected UK born composer and multi-instrumentalist. Initially gaining fame as part of the avant-rock group Henry Cow, a band Frith formed while attending Cambridge University, the guitarist then went onto experiment with other composition techniques, some bleeding over into the sound art category, rather than staying within the bounds of music. With a prolific catalog of albums to his name, Frith now teaches at the prestigious experimental music school Mill College in Oakland, CA, while still occassionally performing and collaborating with other notable composers.
