Rykarda Parasol

San Francisco-based Rykarda Parasol operates within the singer/songwriter genre very loosely. Sometimes performing solo and other times with a backing band, Parasol isn't some hushed, coffee shop act--rather, she creates dark, somewhat gothic, rock songs that have garnered her attention as a sort of female Nick Cave. Parasol's music certainly has an edge and lyrically she does not shy away from sensitive or thought-provoking issues, marking her as a prime candidate for fans of no-nonsense female 90s alt-rockers.
