London-based electronic composer Jon Hopkins is a musical prodigy who was introduced to electronic music at the age of 17, after having spent his childhood and adolescence studying classical piano at the Royal College of Music. He earned immediate acclaim as an electronic music composer with the release of his debut album, Opalescent, in 2001, and became a sought after collaborator for both his acute musical mind and his ear for modern sounds. As Hopkins continues to crank out new material, including a collaborative album with esteemed musicians Brian Eno and Leo Abrams, he is proving himself to be one of the more interesting experimental electronic artists of his generation.
