Ever since German-based beatsmith Shumi started playing residencies at some of Cologne's top night clubs, he has been an integral part of the modern German electronic music scene. While his music could be classified as house - because of the ever present four-on-the-floor downbeat - Shumi's tunes rarely dabble in cliche territory and the constantly evolving nature of his songs help add a layer of intrigue to many of his tunes.
