Kontra K is a Berlin-based German rapper. Growing up a troubled teenager made him turn to rap music to seek solace. The music of American artists like Nas, 2Pac, The Notorious BIG and Naughty by Nature inspired him to start writing his own songs and he dropped out of school to pursue music. Rapper KiezSpezial and he formed the duo Vollkontakt, and released Fight Club Mixtape in 2008. Kontra K embarked on a solo career the next year and founded his own label DePeKa. He has found continued success with his albums and EPs like Ein Herz aus Chrom, Woelfe, Atme den Regen, Labyrinth and more.
