With a sound that's void of hubris, the Bristol, England-based band Elder Island makes a style of music that doesn't neatly conform to any preconceived conceptions of genres. Lacking a characteristic affectation that's so common in modern music, Elder Island seamlessly match doleful vocals, with sparse yet engulfing instrumental arrangements and laconic rhythm accompaniments to create a tasteful sound that's representative of the group members collective artistic consciousness. Elder Island released its self-titled debut in 2014 and since then the group has kept active, releasing additional music, touring and building an ever growing fan base.
