Unnar Gísli Sigurmundsson, known by his stage name Júníus Meyvant, was born and brought up in Westman Island. His sensuous voice, impeccable guitar skills and folk pop compositions are admired by his fans. Júníus Meyvant spent most of his childhood skateboarding and painting and was even suspended from his music school leading him to shun music all through his teenage. However, he gradually gravitated towards music in his early twenties and released his debut single 'Color Decay" winning Newcomer of the year and Best Single of the Year at Iceland Music Awards in 2015. Further which he released his debut album Floating Harmonies in 2016 which won the Best Pop Album of the Year.
