The Arizona Coyotes are a National League Hockey team and a member of the Western Conference's Pacific Division. The Coyotes were originally the Winnipeg Jets, who entered the World Hockey Association in 1972. After the WHA folded in 1979, the Jets joined the NHL. The Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes.
