The Las Vegas Raiders are a member of the AFC West Division in the National Football League. The Raiders began playing in Oakland in 1960, as part of the American Football League. In 1982, the team moved to Los Angeles, where they played for 13 seasons. In 1995 the Raiders returned to Oakland, which is commonly referred to as "Raider Nation." It spent fifteen glorious years in Oakland, before shifting base to Las Vegas in 2020. Late owner and Hall of Fame inductee Al Davis made the Raiders synonymous with the famous mottoes "Just Win Baby" and "Commitment to Excellence."
