Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are a professional basketball team and a member of the National Basketball Association. They compete in the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. The franchise was originally created in 1946 as the Buffalo Bisons. The team was renamed the Tri-Cities Blackhawks and became one of the NBA's original 17 teams when the league was created in 1949. The Blackhawks relocated to Milwaukee in 1951 and became known as the Hawks. After four seasons in Milwaukee, the Hawks moved to St. Louis, where they stayed for 13 seasons. Finally, in 1968 the team moved to Atlanta, where they have been ever since.
