The St. Louis Cardinals are a Major League Baseball team and a member of the National League Central Division. The team was established in 1882 as the St. Louis Brown Stockings and later joined the National League in 1892. The Cardinals have a bitter rivalry with the Chicago Cubs. The two teams are separated by less than 300 miles. Some of the best players in Cardinals history include Stan Musial, Bob Gibson, and Ozzie Smith.
