Aston Villa is one of the progenitors of English football and some would say are the impetus behind the Football League’s establishment in 1888. Since that time, Aston Villa has remained a powerhouse in English football and it has never been relegated out of the Premiere League since the top-flight was created in 1992. The list of domestic and international honors is extensive, however the club has never won in England’s top-tier and it has not won any other title or championship since 1995. The club has several nicknames, most notably the ‘Villans’ and they take the pitch at Villa Park, a stadium located in the borough of Aston, Birmingham.
