Rachel Chinouriri is an English singer-songwriter who was raised in Croydon by parents from Zimbabwe. She began her journey in music at the age of 17, utilizing a £20 microphone and her mother's laptop to record and share her songs on SoundCloud. Her sound, influenced by indie bands such as Daughter and Britpop icons like Oasis, quickly garnered attention. In 2019, she released her debut EP, Mama’s Boy, which received critical acclaim, followed by the mini-album Four° In Winter in 2021, featuring the prominent single "Give Me a Reason." The track "So My Darling," initially released in 2018, saw a surge in popularity on TikTok in 2022. Chinouriri has continued to advance her career with the release of her second EP, Better Off Without, in 2022, and her debut album, What a Devastating Turn of Events, in 2024, which entered the UK Albums Chart at number 17. Her distinctive fusion of indie and pop music has solidified her presence in the industry.
