Khemmis is a doom metal band from Denver, Colorado that was formed in 2012. Named after an ancient Egyptian city that is now known as Akhmim, Khemmis fills is songs with lyrics that center around pagan deities and the power of the Egyptian civilization during its heyday of yesteryear. Since releasing its debut album, Absolution, in 2015, the group has kept active, releasing additional albums, touring and sharing the stage with fellow metal rockers Enslaves, Wolves in the Throne Room and Myrkur, helping establish Khemmis as one of the more capable doom metal acts of its generation.
