Karol G, born Carolina Giraldo Navarro, is an accomplished Colombian singer-songwriter known for her knack for creating soulful melodies that range from reggaeton to R&B. Interested in music since childhood, she enrolled at the University of Antioquia to study music and worked as a back-up singer for artists like Reykon. She toured across the country extensively in order to promote her career independently, playing at colleges, festivals and clubs. The touring paid off and in 2013 she got the opportunity to work with Nicky Jam on the track "Amor de Dos." She subsequently released several more chart-topping singles like "Ricos Besos," which exploded in Colombia. May 2017 saw her collaborate with Bad Bunny on "Ahora Me Llama," which catapulted her into the limelight. The single featured on her debut album Unstoppable, which dropped in 2017 and peaked at number two on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. She returned in 2018 with the singles "Culpables" and "Mi Cama." The latter's remixed version earned Karol G two Premios Lo Nuestro Awards in 2019. In 2020, she released the single "Follow" with Anuel AA.
