A merger between Irún Sporting Club and Racing Club de Irún led to the formation of Real Unión in 1915. The Spanish football club is considered as one of the earliest leaders of the game in the country. The club is also one of the many founders of the LaLiga. Real Unión first won the Copa del Rey in 1913 and has won the title multiple times since then. The club competes in the Segunda División B and plays its home games at Stadium Gal.
