London-based Jade Bird's huge fanbase is proof of her immense talent. The music of the likes of Bob Dylan inspired her to learn the guitar and try her hand at songwriting. Intent on pursuing a career in music, she bagged herself a spot at the prestigious BRIT School. Her performances at local venues over the course of her graduation helped her land piano sessions at BBC Radio 1, where she performed with many eminent artists. Her vocals on her debut EP, Something American, were highly praised by critics, and she got a chance as the opening act for artists like London Grammar.
