Anna Meares is lauded by many as one of the best female track cyclists. She has been the recipient of numerous medals at prestigious sporting events like the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics. The retired cyclist started her career as an 11-year-old in Queensland, Australia. She proved herself a true champion when she recovered from a severe injury and qualified for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Over the course of her career, she won one Olympic gold, two Commonwealth Games gold medals and three world titles among others. Since retiring, she has been a keynote speaker at multiple events.
