CD Numancia is a Spanish football team that is based in Castile and León. Established in 1945, the team has been fairly successful, even though its time in the top flight has been limited. Known for its consistency and tenacity, the team enjoyed its most successful spell in the late 1900s. It secured two promotions in three seasons between 1997 and 1999, to make it to the La Liga for the first time in its history. However, it was relegated back to the Segunda Division after two seasons and appearances in the top flight have been few and far between since then.
