UD Las Palmas is a team that hails from Spain’s Canary Islands. The team was founded in 1949 and it’s one of the only teams to enter the top-flight league within its first two-years of existence. Since then, the team had been relegated to the lower divisions for the majority of its history, however the team achieved a few sporadic promotions in-between. Las Palmas has never won the title, however it was close in 1968-69 when the team finished as Runners-up to Real Madrid. Los Amarillos (The Yellow Ones) as they are known, play in the Gran Canaria Stadium which holds a capacity of 32,150 people.
