The French rugby team Tarbes Pyrénées Rugby represents Tarbes in Championnat Fédéral Nationale - the third tier of the league system in the country. It was founded in 2000 after Stadoceste Tarbais, a 4th division team, offered CA Lannemezan to merge so as to reach the Top 14 in the future. The new club began playing as LT65 in the Pro D2, before being renamed as Tarbes Pyrénées Rugby soon thereafter. It has a couple of French Championship titles to its name and is based at Stade Maurice Trélut.
