Originally established under the name of Jeonbuk Dinos FC in 1994, the football club changed the name into Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors. The team did not show remarkable results apart from two champion trophies for FA cup until 2004. However, after the winning of FA cup in 2005 once again, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors lifted the champion trophies repeatedly for K-League and AFC Champions League. This green colored jersey team's home ground is Jeonju World Cup Stadium which is commonly referred as Jeonju Castle. Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors forms many rival derbies against FC Seoul, Ulsan Hyundai FC and Jeonnam Dragons, which are called 'Lovey Derby,' 'Hyundai Family Derby' and 'Honam Derby' respectively.
