Although Suwon Samsung Bluewings was formed a little late in 1995 after the launching of K-League in 1983, the team was sensational from the beginning. At the team's first competition in the league in 1996, they became the champion and got second place in FA cup. To sum up, the football club lifted a total of four champion trophies for the league, 3 trophies for the FA cup and 6 trophies for a league cup. Its home ground, Big Bird, is well known for enthusiastic cheering of passionate supporters, called Frente Tricolor, perform. Suwon Samsung Bluewings forms two intense rivals derbies with FC Seoul and Seongnam Ilhwa, which are called 'Super Match' and 'Magye Big Match' respectively.
