Fahrenheit 451 was originally a literary novel by Ray Bradbury written in 1953. The book is based on a dystopian world where "firemen" were required to burn books. 451 degrees Fahrenheit is the temperature at which paper or books ignite and burn. The book was adapted into a play by the novelist in 1970. Its story revolves around a fireman, Montag, and his life-altering encounter with the 16-year-old Clarisse. Montag's meeting with Clarisse forces him rethink his decisions and eventually changes his life entirely. Ironically, Fahrenheit 451 suffered a similar fate to the fictional publications featured in the book when it was censored, redacted and banned on few occasions. However, the book remains an iconic tale and was converted into an e-book in 2011. In 2018, a motion picture was also released worldwide based on the same novel.
