Caen Basket Calvados was founded in 1959. The basketball team competes in the LNB Pro B and hosts matches at Palais des Sports of Caen. The 70s were the club's glory years. The club made it to the semi finals of European Cup Winner's Cup in 1978 but were defeated by the Sinudyne Bologna. The 80s, however, brought a series of relegations for the club. The club performed quitre well in the 2017 season and was promoted to Pro B for the next season.
