Amorphis

Amorphis is a band that puts an unique Finnish twist on Death metal. The usual, harsh death vocals are there alongside melodic death metal elements, but the band often centers its lyrics around the Kalevala, a long drawn out Finnish story and the country's national epic. Though the band might be a little too ambiguous for listeners who don't call Finland home, the group's dedication to memorable songwriting and instrumental technicality, matched with a unwavering dedication to its motherland is undoubtedly worthy of praise.
