Mamelodi Sundowns is one of the mightiest clubs in the realm of South African Football. Not only does it compete in the Premier Division, but it has won the league title multiple times. This alone has made the club one of the league titans. But its prowess and success are not just limited to the Premier Division, its performances in other competitions have been similarly fruitful. In 2016, it won the African Club of the Year award and in the same year, it created history by becoming the first club from its county to compete in the FIFA Club World Cup. The force behind all this comprises many top-notch players like Katlego Mphela, Daniel Mudau, Bennett Masinga. The club is based in Mamelodi, a township in the Gauteng province and was founded in the early 1960s. It holds its home games at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
