Formed in 1878, Alloa Athletic is a Scottish football club that competes in the Scottish Championship. It is based in Alloa and has been playing its home fixtures at the Recreation Park since 1895. Also known as “The Wasps”, its most notable achievements include the Scottish Challenge Cup, Scottish Third Division and Scottish Division Two. However, despite being a runner-up for a record number of times, it has yet to win the Scottish League Two trophy.
