The seed of the Austrian rock band Mother's Cake was sown in 2008 when Yves Krismer, Benedikt Trenkwalder and Jan Haußels got together to jam in a small village in the Alps. Taking inspiration from stalwarts like Red Hot Chili Peppers and Led Zeppelin, the band creates a fusion of funk and hard rock, with undertones of progressive and alternative rock. Mother's Cake took its music to venues in Tyrol, and in spent a major portion of 2009 and 2010 participating in big-name competitions. The band's debut single, 2013's "Creation's Finest," created a stir in the national and international music circles and helped establish Mother's Cake as a strong musical entity. That same year, it was awarded the Austrian Newcomer Award. After a couple of months of touring with big-name artists across the world, the band released its debut album Creation's Finest in 2014. The prolific outfit has since released many more albums over the years. Some of its most popular tracks include "Night and Day," "I Like It," "No Rhyme or Reason" and "Realitricked Me."
