The Russian football club, FC Khimki was founded in 1997. It was created when two existing clubs, Novator and Rodina, decided to join forces and play as a single entity. It is based in the city of Khimki and it uses the SK Rodina stadium for home games. The club stepped into the world of football by making its debut at the amateur league and within a span of a few years, it paved its way into the First Division.
