Commonly known as Akhmat Grozny, Republican Football Club Akhmat is a professional football team that competes in the Russian Premier League - Russia's top tier league. Founded in 1946 as Dynamo, the club has always been the pride of the Republic of Chechnya and is massively supported by the locals. While the club has enjoyed a good run of form through the years, the Russian Cup and Russian Super Cup are the only pieces of silverware in its trophy cabinet.
